Once again the one man offense has proven to be a fantasy. Football is a game of strategy, it can’t be won by one side of the line, nor by one player. Michigan PRESENT continues to prove this fact. If you’re only going to play one side of the game, include, coach, and plan for all 11 players on that side. An unbiased coach would realize that he has an exceptional running back and a more than qualified quarterback on the same team and would apply the attributes of both to the same offense, creating a nearly unstoppable offense. Instead we get the one man Stoppable offense directed by a tunnel visioned coach.
True, not a fan of the "West Coast Offense', mainly because it only addresses one side of the game (kind of a lazy coach approach to football), sure it wins games - temporarily, eventually the (good) defenses will catch up and be able to stop it, which again, brings us to Michigan Football, wake up, the fad is over, total football rules - play, coach, and execute both sides of the line.
Remember the Wolverines.
